The primary focus was on Analogue to Digital conversion, using my knowledge of microprocessors, micro-controller systems and C language to produce an interface suitable for consumer use.
Initially I worked up a mock-up using a bread board to test the code as I wrote it. Using the Standard Library functions, I was able to minimise the amount code I needed to write, focusing on how to covert the raw data into physical distances and decided on what to display on the screen.
I created the layout of the PCB and produced working circuitry to run and interface with the LCD screen. The project culminated in working prototype, that accurately measured the distance of objects, toggling between inches and centimetres at the touch of a button.
